The skyline of the Pre-Alps and the majestic horizons dominated by Mount Rosa surround 18-hole Golf dei Laghi in Travedona Monate.
THE COURSE at GOLF dei LAGHI
The course is rigorous but the ground is good; the soil is enriched with humus and sand, making it well-drained when it rains and soft in the summer. The morphological conformation of Golf dei Laghi makes this course varied and fascinating: woods, streams, water springs, open views over a bright plain, fairways to take on, stances and bold greens.
It’s not a particularly long course, but its numerous natural hazards (trees, little lakes, streams) often mean paying careful attention when hitting the ball, to facilitate the next swing. The characteristic of the course is that there are 6 rather large, flat holes, 6 that unfold among woods and the last 6 are located in a hilly area.
The course design allows players to play two, six, nine or eighteen holes and always finish close to the club house. A healthy jolt for one’s concentration and commitment, but also for good the mind and body. Each round at Golf dei Laghi is a story to tell about nature, sports and challenges.
THE CLUB AND ITS SERVICES
The club house was built by completely renovating the old Visconti family stables, and includes a first building (completely rebuilt in 2007), which is home to the secretary’s office, pro shop, and men’s and women’s changing rooms (both equipped with a sauna) and the executive council’s offices.
The second building, which is connected to the first by a short covered walkway, encompasses the bar, lounge and restaurant, which won the Mistretta award for the best club thanks to its menu characterized by national and international dishes, a good selection of wines and spoon desserts. The facility is refined by its large portico, which is ideal for outdoor lunches and overlooks the putting green and hole 9, as well as hole 18 just a few tens of metres away.
PRACTICE AREAS
The driving range has 6 covered stalls, 20 uncovered stalls, a pitching green, several practice bunkers and a room used with an instructor during lessons to examine video clips of a player’s swing.
