Losone’s patriciate is home to the newest golf course in Ticino, Golf Club Gerre, which was inaugurated in 2001. This is home to 18 holes on very fast greens with difficult slopes that unfold in a seemingly enchanted landscape amid woods and chestnut trees and a romantic flowing stream that forms charming little lakes. The course was studied by Ticinese architect Peter Harradine, who quite capably enhanced the local natural beauties while never forgetting the main goal: to create a course that was interesting for all players. Despite its recent establishment, Golf Gerre has hosted numerous national championships and is the seat of the Ladies' Swiss Open (sponsored by Deutsche Bank).
THE CLUB HOUSE
Hole 18 is worth pointing out. This par 4 ends right in front of the club house terrace. The buildings, changing rooms and offices were obtained using typical Ticinese rural construction. Bare stones, wooden beams and large windows result in warmth and hospitality.
DELTA GREEN – THE RESTAURANT
The restaurant’s terrace is the best viewpoint for enjoying the marvellous panorama dominating most of the course and the entire valley. This elegantly modern, warm room offers quality food and one of the best wine selections on the market, making every meal a true feast for the palate!
GOLF ESPACE
Carefully selected golf items are sold in the pro shop. They were chosen by personnel with over 20 years of experience in the industry. In addition to equipment, there is also a wide selection of technical and non-technical apparel.
GOLF SCHOOL
“Improving your game!” Golf Gerre Losone has always thought the needs are very important of golfers at all levels. This is why it created a teaching area with cover and uncovered stalls and leading technology. Expert instructors meet all needs by making themselves available for individual, group and corporate lessons.
