European Golf Club Ispra was founded in 1989 and became a member of the Italian Golf Federation in 1992. One of this facility’s main strengths is undoubtedly its position. The course overlooks the Lombard shores of Lake Maggiore and offers beautiful views of natural landscapes.
This practice green (open year-round) has a pretty 6-hole pitch & putt course. Enthusiasts can take advantage of the facility's putting and pitching greens, an indoor gym and changing room, and the club house, which has a bar and restaurant that become the reference point for players to grab something to eat from after a healthy day of golf!
Regular staff works promptly every day of the year for the pleasure of some 100 current club members. The feather in European Golf Club Ispra’s cap is its school, where aspiring golfers are assisted, trained, and taught the rules of this sport so they can later play their first rounds on the courses, for etiquette and conduct lessons and to obtain a handicap score. Not only does the facility offer beginner lessons but also lessons for improving one’s golf.
Once or twice a month on Friday or Saturday, European Golf Club organizes several competitions reserved for members and friends at some of the most beautiful clubs in the area, with discounted green fees. But the most interesting initiative takes place every summer before the holidays, when an evening competition with illuminated balls is organized.
The areas surrounding the facility are also worth taking in and there are many pleasant places to spend free time in when you’re not golfing: a tour of the charming Santa Caterina Hermitage in Leggiuno, of Rocca Borromeo (Borromeo fort) in Angera or a stroll along the lakeside promenade in Laveno!
