Brezzo di Bedero rises on the Valtravaglia plateau, a green strip of land enclosed on one side by the lakeshore and on the other, by the first hills in Valcuvia. Originally the two towns of Brezzo and Bedero, today this radiant and majestic small town overlooks the western shore of Lake Maggiore. Enthusiasm is experienced in the woods from Rocca di Caldè to Pasquè di Bedero - the location of homes, bell towers, gardens and small villas all set against an alpine ring stage and blue lake.
Tourism in Brezzo di Bedero
Brezzo di Bedero is home to the old Church of Collegiata di San Vittore, also known as S. Vittore Presbytery. This interesting example of Romanesque architecture (with a fabulous 18th-century organ) and its magnificent majestic lines and dimensions was used as early back as the 1100’s. The municipal territory amply spans between the lake and hills and offers tourists magnificent views and opportunities to relax. In particular, the municipal beach is known for its excellence and cleanliness making it one of the 12 best beaches in the province of Varese. Inhabitants of Brezzo di Bedero are also very proud of the local vines that produce excellent wines from Valtravaglia, whose quality was already known in the 16th century when they reached the larger cities after crossing the lake.
Events in Brezzo di Bedero
Villagers eagerly wait for the living crèche to be enacted in the presbytery area (this tradition is now over 30 years old). Collegiata di S. Vittore hosts another important and well-known cultural event: the international classical music concert season, held from July to September.
